JS Held, a global consulting firm, has acquired TBG Security, a cybersecurity firm based in Franklin, MA.

Founded in 2003, TBG provides offensive and defensive cybersecurity consulting services to clients in healthcare, financial services, retail and consumer goods, as well as business and technology services. The firm’s engineers, risk analysts, and cybersecurity architects advise on compliance solutions, cloud security, vendor risk management, data breach protection, information security, and incident response preparedness and support.

TBG has 15 employees, according to LinkedIn.

JS Held will bring TBG into its North American global investigations practice.

“The addition of Frank and the TBG team strengthens our ability to provide a depth of offensive solutions as well as defensive response services,” said Stephen O’Malley, senior managing director and head of JS Held’s digital research and discovery (DI&D) team. “TBG’s work in risk and compliance, internal and external penetration testing and incident response services has given them a well-deserved, exemplary reputation. We are excited to add this group of experts to our DI&D team.”

JS Held’s other US acquisitions this year include the February purchase of CFI, an IL-based financial services consultancy, and the March purchase of Ocean Tomo, a Chicago-based consultancy specializing in intangible assets.

“Since the beginning, TBG has provided risk management solutions to help our clients minimize uncertainty in an increasingly hostile information environment. By joining forces with JS Held, we gain access to new resources and experts from different backgrounds and disciplines to complement our team and core services,” said Frank Murphy, co-founder and CEO of TBG Security. “This combination strengthens our ability to provide clients with expertise in cyber security that they need at home and abroad, as they strive to minimize risk.”

Headquartered in Jericho, NY, JS Held has more than 100 offices and a workforce of more than 1,500 employees worldwide. The firm provides specialist technical and forensic advisory services to a wide range of industries, with practice areas including forensic accounting, economics, corporate finance, investigations, construction claims and disputes, and environmental health and safety.
