Despite market upheavals and recession fears, investors continued to show strong support for cybersecurity startups during the first half of 2022.
All kinds of cybersecurity startups are benefiting from the huge demand for security products to counter increasingly brazen cyberattacks and other malicious mischief by hackers.
Exact funding figures for the second quarter have not yet been released, but the first quarter saw nearly $6 billion in cybersecurity funding, up 50 percent from the same quarter in 2021, according to Crunchbase.
There are signs of the market cooling, such as the fact that funding in Q1 2022 was significantly lower than funding in Q4 2021, according to Crunchbase.
A number of investment players are also noticing that venture values have been falling lately, due to the drying up of the IPO market and worrying signs of a possible economic downturn.
However, it cannot be denied that it has been a good source of funding for many young cybersecurity startups.
